The Georgia Water Ski Federation has been promoting skiing in Georgia since 1976. This site is dedicated to the mission of the GWSF by promoting, recording and advancing the sport enjoyed by thousands. The goal is to grow our sport throughout Georgia. We will bring news of the sport from around the state, archive the history, memories, records and events that have formed a legacy of both National and International success. No matter what your skill level or favorite discipline, we welcome you to enjoy the site and join our family of members.

2012 Georgia Water Ski Championships will be held at Whitestone Lakes Estates
The GWSF Board Of Directors voted to approve Whitestone Lakes Estates as the club of choice this year to hold the coveted 3 event competition. The tournament is scheduled for July 14-15th. Friday is to be scheduled practice. The Tournament Director is Jim Barron. Approved Chief's are as follows; Ray Crenshaw-Chief Judge, Shannon Nolan-Chief Scorer, Andy Rose-Chief Driver, John Dicus-Chief Safety. The Host Club will hold the annual banquet which will include a Jr. Delevopment Fundraiser, food and fellowship, awards ceremony and our GWSF meeting. Atlanta Pro/Am Slalom Ski Tournament Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th, 2012 9am to 3pm at Water Ski Atlanta
George Obser of Water Ski Atlanta has put together a great opportunity for you ski with the best!
Pro skiers that have entered include: Nate Smith, Will Asher, Jon Travers, Chris Rossi, Thomas Degasperi, Nick Parsons, Aaron Larkin, Jason McClintock, Corey Humburg, Regina Jaquess, Whitney McClintock and Karina Nowlan!
The tournament will be a Class C with two rounds that will be handicapped for the Amateur skiers. Skier’s AWSA buoy average MINUS 6 BUOYS will be the baseline. The top three highest scores from both rounds in relation to you handicap score will make the podium and receive awards from the Pro Skiers.
In addition, the Top 5 scores, with no regard to your handicap, from either round one or round two will advance to the Final Championship round along with the Top 5 Pro Skiers where the winning Amateur will receive their entry fee back (or possible more depending on sponsorship) for winning the event.
Lunch and T-shirts are included. Amateur entry fee is $125. Parking for non-skiers will be a $5 donation in order to support the event.

NO Wake Lake 3 event ski tournament June 9th-10th
This venue is just inside the Georgia border, but a Tennessee Club. (nobody's perfect - hehe) Known for its always perfect conditions and one of the best ski sites for great scoring. This event usually sells out, so if you have not registered, do it today! They are running 2 rounds of Slalom - Trick - Jump. Good luck competitors!
Junior U.S. Open Entry Form Posted
The Fact Sheet and Entry Form for the 12th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships are now available to download from the USA Water Ski Web site. The 2012 Junior U.S. Open, a two-round world-record capability tournament, will be held June 2-3 at the Lake of Dreams in Jerseyville, Ill. There will be four divisions: Boys, Girls, Junior Men and Junior Women. Boys and Girls must have been born in the year 1995 or more recently. Junior Men and Junior Women must have been born between 1990 and 1994 inclusive.
The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. (EDT) on May 14.

Atlanta Water Ski Club - 3 event tournament at Lake Acworth - Acworth, Ga. May 19-20, 2012.
Follow-up: AWSC put on a great tournament, and the conditions were perfect! This venue cannot be beat when you have weather like this! There were several competitors into 38off, big trick scores, and jumping over 140ft! AWSC arguably has the best jump ramp available.
Whitestone Summer Starter!!! Ski this 3 event because you want to!
Tournament Dates June 16-17, 2012. You won't find a venue much better than this! Slalom will be run on lake 1 all day Saturday. For you 3 event competitors, Tricks and Jump Ski will be on Sunday, also lake 1. Dont Forget, The Georgia Water Ski Championships will also be held here. This is a perfect opportunity to get practiced up for a good showing at that tournament as well!

A Nightmare?? Or a dream come true??Freddy 'The Nightmare' Krueger makes a surprise visit at Water Ski Atlanta after winning and retaining his jump title at the 52nd Masters held each year at Calloway Gardens. Resident ski bum and employee of WSA, Tanner Whitford was offered some very beneficial jumping instructions by the man himself! See the pics and vids pages for proof!
